HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR. SEUSS!
I love this day! I wish it was a school day...no, I don't want to be at school...but I do enjoy this day when it is a school day. The kids eating green eggs and ham, making Cat in the Hat hats, reading Dr. Seuss all day....it makes me smile!
Since Nick's birthday is during the summer and his half birthday is over winter break, he never gets to take birthday cupcakes. So, in kindergarten I asked the teacher if we could send a snack for Dr. Seuss' birthday. We made really cute Cat in the Hat hats and cupcakes. His teacher was super cool about it again this year and we made a Dr. Seuss Snack Mix. Such a cute idea!! I don't have one place that I can reference with the idea...I actually took a couple of different ideas and added my own to get this combo. Each part of the mix has a Dr. Seuss book reference. Enjoy!

We made 30 bags of the snack mix. I asked Nicholas if everyone enjoyed them...from the mouth of a first grader "I guess so...I didn't ask." GEEZ! We aren't even at the teenage years.
This weekend is a stress free, no plans, lots of TV watching weekend. No rec. sports, no meetings, nothing....we literally laid around the house all day. It was awesome. Tomorrow we will head to church and then back home for some more relaxing. The Crawford family definitely need it. I do have to run to the store tomorrow...I mean, we might get 18 to 24 inches of snow this week...hahaha...that would be awesome!
Do you have a copy of the dr. seuss soup sheet? We do A family night at our school for read across america and it would be perfect :-) Thanks
