Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DR. SEUSS!

I love this day!  I wish it was a school day...no, I don't want to be at school...but I do enjoy this day when it is a school day.  The kids eating green eggs and ham, making Cat in the Hat hats, reading Dr. Seuss all day....it makes me smile!

Since Nick's birthday is during the summer and his half birthday is over winter break, he never gets to take birthday cupcakes.  So, in kindergarten I asked the teacher if we could send a snack for Dr. Seuss' birthday.  We made really cute Cat in the Hat hats and cupcakes.  His teacher was super cool about it again this year and we made a Dr. Seuss Snack Mix.  Such a cute idea!!  I don't have one place that I can reference with the idea...I actually took a couple of different ideas and added my own to get this combo.  Each part of the mix has a Dr. Seuss book reference.  Enjoy!

Supplies
We used the following:
  • Plain M&Ms
  • Cheerios
  • Animal Crackers
  • Chocolate Eggs
  • Popcorn
  • Colored Goldfish
  • Letter and Number Crackers
  • Cotton Candy

The sheet that explains each part of the snack mix.

We made 30 bags of the snack mix.  I asked Nicholas if everyone enjoyed them...from the mouth of a first grader "I guess so...I didn't ask."  GEEZ!  We aren't even at the teenage years.

This weekend is a stress free, no plans, lots of TV watching weekend.  No rec. sports, no meetings, nothing....we literally laid around the house all day.  It was awesome.  Tomorrow we will head to church and then back home for some more relaxing.  The Crawford family definitely need it.  I do have to run to the store tomorrow...I mean, we might get 18 to 24 inches of snow this week...hahaha...that would be awesome!

Tooth #2

The tooth fairy has been busy this week at the Crawfords!  Our first top tooth came out!  Yay, Nick

Yes, that is blood on his hand and his face.  He was wrestling when it happened.  Wait, let me clarify.  He did not lose it while in wrestling...but rather when he and his buddy Ryan were playing around afterwards.  It was hanging on by a thread.  I'm glad it finally came out!!  The tooth fairy is going broke...I think she has a little break.

Tooth Fairy...

FINALLY!!!!!  Nicholas finally lost another tooth.  He has had three loose teeth for about a month now.  I swear two of them could have just fallen out with a small breeze.  Finally, while eating dinner tonight...one of them came out!!!  I guess the top middle teeth will be next!

UGH.....the computer won't rotate the picture....but you get the idea!  He is such a goofball!

Love is in the air!

Happy Valentine's Day!  Well, tomorrow is actually Valentine's Day....but for once, we are not waiting until last minute to make our valentines!!  I found the ideas on Pinterest.  Have I ever mentioned how much I love Pinterest??!!

Nick LOVES Pop Rocks and I found them super cheap on Oriental trading.  I made the cards on the computer and Nick wrote in the names.
How cute is the bag in the back?

He used the strawberry flavor for his class.

David's class is for 20 to 30 months.  What in the world to you give to that age?  FRUIT SNACKS!  It also helps that that is David's FAVORITE snack, or "'nack" as he calls it.  Obviously, he can't write yet, so I did it all on the computer!
We put all of David's valentines
in this bag!
Wouldn't you be David's valentine?

We hope your day is filled with lots of love, kisses, and hugs!
