Beach Trip 2012

We have just returned from Myrtle Beach.  We had an awesome time.  Here is a run through of our vacation..... (I apologize, this is a long post)

We stayed in the North Tower at The Ocean Creek Resort.  This is located across the street from Barefoot Landing.  The condo had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, eating area, living room, and a balcony with an awesome view!

North Tower - sorry it is so blurry!

View from our balcony

On the first day/night, we went shopping at the outlets, grabbed dinner at Chili's (YUMMY!), did some golf shopping (Nicholas got new golf shoes), took a night time visit to the beach, and then hit the sack - we were TIRED!

Checking out the condo...

Recovering from shopping

Nicholas checking out the beach with his daddy...he hasn't been to the beach since he was 2 years old!

Feeling out the water - chilly!!

Grandma and Pop-Pop stayed back with David.

WORN OUT!!!

Day 2 started off with a trip to the beach.  We were ready with our new Sport-Brella, which was AWESOME!!  I fully recommend it for anyone going to the beach!  We weren't sure how either boy would react to the sand and water....Nicholas - LOVED both!  David - LOVED the sand, HATED the ocean!  No one got sunburned - YAY!!!!  We headed in around lunch time, got cleaned up, and headed out to the golf shops, and to play putt-putt.  Grandma and I made spaghetti for dinner.  After our food settled, we headed out to the pool.  Nicholas and Jeremy were the only ones to get in - I thought it was way too cool outside!  But Nicholas had a great time!

We are ready for the beach!!

On our last full day, we went back to the beach in the morning, everyone but David and I played golf, we ate dinner at The Chesapeake House (YUMMY!), and then we strolled around Barefoot Landing.

Are we done yet?

Feeding the nasty fish...they were HUGE!

On Sunday morning, we got up and left.  The trip home was just as nice and easy as the ride to Myrtle Beach.  We were definitely blessed with good traveling sons :-)  We had such a great time!

Happy First Birthday, David!

Friday, May 13, 2011 our life changed.  David Steven Crawford was born.  He was two weeks early and had a head full of hair....who could have guessed that one year later he would be the spunky, blonde headed, cutie pie?! Yes, the year has had its challenges - allergies, lots of allergies!!!  But we have learned a lot and have made his eating as normal as possible.

On Sunday, we had a birthday party.  I have a ton of pictures - ENJOY!!!!

ummm...NO HAT MOM!

But my big brother looks cool in it!

Hanging out with his buddy.,..

Last week, David wasn't feeling well.  He is now on an antibiotic for a sinus infection.  Nana and Grandma stepped in BIG time with helping hands.  THANK YOU!!!

The day that David stayed at Grandma's house, it gave him a chance to work on his relationship with Sophie.  LOL!  Sophie is so good with him.  She knows that she is NOT allowed to lick him.  David SOOOOO wants to pull Sophie's tail.  Take a look at the two cute pics!

If Sophie could talk, she would be saying "Come on kid, don't mess with the hair!"

Sophie: "So, do you think we can make an escape?"
David: "I don't know...depends on how fast we are.  I mean we are both on all fours!"

Teacher Appreciation Gift

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week!  Nicholas absolutely LOVES his kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Spencer.  She is absolutely wonderful.  As a parent, I appreciate her constant communication and the kindness she has with the students.  Nicholas loves to hear about her dog that is learning tricks and who won at Jeopardy - she or Mr. Spencer.  He has learned so much from her and the other teachers at Glen Cove.  He is reading and writing...and is so proud of it!  He just amazes me!  I do have to brag - he has been on "green" all year!  This means he has not had any behavior problems....well, at least none that have we have been told about at home :-)  Between preschool and kindergarten, we have been very blessed with GREAT teachers!

So, to let Mrs. Spencer know how much we appreciate her, we have sent her a couple small gifts this week.  Yesterday, Nicholas took her some muffins with a handwritten note.  Tomorrow (Friday), he is taking her a cool cup with some drink mixes.  I found the idea on Pinterest and just had to try it.  YES, I'm a dork and took some pictures to show everyone.  I think it would be a cool gift for a ton of reasons - birthdays, graduations, get well soon, etc....

ENJOY!

I had to include this....YES, Nicholas is the kid with 100+ "things" hanging off his bookbag - UGH!

DAVID'S FIRST HAIRCUT

It is so hard to believe that it was almost a year ago that this guy entered our life.  To get ready for his ONE year pics, we went today and got his FIRST HAIR CUT!  Michelle Porterfield did the cut - she was awesome!!  I don't know how she did it with all of his moving.  The little guy wasn't feeling well...we went to the doctor after the hair cut and got an antibiotic for a sinus infection.  Hopefully thed meds will kick in before his pictures on Saturday.  Look at the BEFORE and AFTER pictures!! (YES, he looks so much like Nicholas when he was one)

April comes to an end...

The end of April brought a busy but fun weekend!

On Friday evening, we went to the Salem Farmers Market for some music and food....Nicholas was a dancing machine.  I was totally shocked how David enjoyed the LOUD music!  The best part of the whole thing is PEOPLE WATCHING!  WOW!  I just wonder sometimes.....

I love David's face in this picture....hahaha!!!  GIVE ME THE CONE!

Saturday was Opening Day for T-ball.  There was a ceremony and they played there first game.  Nicholas is on the Nationals and his friend Ryan is on his team!  The Opening Ceremonies went great and the weather was gorgeous.....the first game...well that is another story.  It was a tad gloomy when we arrived....after the first inning...the sky opened up!!  But the boys continued to play and they had a great time.

Not sure what Nicholas is doing....but a great father-son picture!
